The Songs Between Daughters and Wolves is my novel about Tule Bearpaw, a Native child-welfare worker whose already complicated life takes an unexpected turn when a series of missing girls draws her into a mystery that reaches beyond the world she knows.
Set in the Oklahoma Ozarks, the novel weaves together family, motherhood, grief, cultural memory, and the unseen connections between generations. At its heart is a woman learning that some things we inherit from our mothers and grandmothers cannot be explained—they can only be heard.
